Crafted in Afghanistan this piece carries a genuine sense of provenance and traditional skill that connects your home to generations of regional rug-making heritage.

Because this is a truly one-of-a-kind creation no two rugs are ever identical and this exact piece will never be made again meaning your home will feature something entirely unique to your personal space.

Berber rug traditions trace their roots back to the indigenous communities of North Africa and Central Asia where nomadic groups hand-knotted wool floor coverings to insulate their dwellings against harsh weather.

Over generations these weaving techniques travelled along historical trade routes evolving into distinct regional styles that still honour ancient storytelling traditions.

The hand-knotted construction method is central to the heritage of these rugs as artisans loop individual strands of wool around the foundation warps by hand to build a dense and resilient pile.

The design of this piece features striking geometric patterns and traditional diamond motifs rendered in vibrant colour palettes that reflect the artistic expressions of Afghan makers.

Owning a rug from this tradition means welcoming a piece of cultural history into your home that represents a living craft where human skill and patience offer enduring quality.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate countless hours to tying each individual knot by hand.

This meticulous hand-crafting method requires immense precision and patience resulting in a durable and resilient structure designed to last for years.

With a density of 40,000 knots per m2 and a total weight of 4.7 kg distributed across a 138 x 85 cm surface the construction reflects an exceptional investment of human labour.

This high knot count allows the pattern details to emerge with clarity while providing a dense and supportive pile that maintains its integrity under daily use.

The careful hand-knotting technique ensures that the 100% wool foundation holds firm offering a level of structural quality and durability that machine-made alternatives simply cannot match.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
