Bring a sense of genuine heritage and warmth into your home with this unique Pakistani Bokhara rug. Every inch of this floor covering is designed to provide a deeply cosy and welcoming feel underfoot featuring a substantial 9 mm pile that adds soft cushioning and natural sound absorption to living spaces.

Woven using 100% wool this piece offers exceptional natural resilience and a rich tactile surface that feels both comforting and robust. The dense construction provides dependable everyday comfort while naturally resisting wear making it a reliable choice for family rooms and quiet reading corners alike.

This rug features a knot density of 160,000 knots per m2 which is a high level of precision that creates a denser more supportive pile and sharper pattern definition. This craftsmanship ensures the surface holds its luxurious feel and appearance over years of daily life.

As a truly one-of-a-kind piece no other rug in the world shares this exact combination of artisan handiwork and subtle tonal variations. Owning this Pakistani creation means introducing an authentic irreplaceable item that exists nowhere else.

Bokhara rugs trace their design lineage back to the ancient Silk Road trading hub of Bukhara in Central Asia where nomadic tribes traditionally wove woollen items for daily use and trade. Over generations this distinctive aesthetic migrated southward finding a thriving and highly refined home in the workshops of Pakistan.

The designation 2ply refers to the construction of the pile where two distinct strands of wool are twisted together before being knotted. This technique produces a denser heavier and more lustrous pile compared to single-ply variations offering improved durability and a richer surface texture for everyday living.

Visually this tradition is defined by repeating gul motifs which are traditional octagonal medallions arranged in neat rows across the field. Enclosed by structured geometric borders this design language offers a balanced layout that brings a sense of calm and order to interior spaces.

Collecting a Pakistani Bokhara means acquiring a piece of living textile history grounded in generations of hand-knotting expertise. It represents a commitment to genuine craftsmanship offering lasting quality that connects contemporary homes with enduring traditions of skill.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled artisans in Pakistan representing a monumental investment of human time and expertise. Crafting a piece of this scale with a density of 160,000 knots per m2 requires months of continuous highly focused labour as individual strands of 100% wool are tied by hand onto the foundation.

Weighing 12.6 kg across a 251 x 200 cm format the substantial physical weight reflects the high density of the materials and the rigorous packing of the knots. This meticulous hand-knotting process secures each tuft firmly in place resulting in a durable structure designed to withstand generations of daily use.
