This one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted Pakistani rug features the iconic repeating gul motifs that bring a sense of order and comfort to any interior space.

This exceptional hand-knotted rug from Pakistan offers a luxurious, tactile experience underfoot. Its dense pile provides a soft, warm surface that naturally insulates your home while contributing to better acoustics in your living areas.

The rug is truly one of a kind, meaning this specific arrangement of motifs and the subtle variations in its hand-dyed wool will never be replicated. Owning this piece ensures that your living space features a unique element of authentic artistry that stands apart from mass-produced decor.

With a density of 250,000 knots per m2, the rug offers a level of precision that translates into exceptional durability. This high knot count allows for the intricate, crisp definition of the repeating patterns, ensuring the rug maintains its structural integrity and aesthetic beauty for many years.

Whether placed in a quiet study or a central living room, the rug serves as a grounded, inviting anchor for your furniture. Its natural materials and thoughtful construction create an atmosphere of comfort, making it a reliable companion for your daily life at home.

The Bokhara rug tradition is deeply rooted in the historical crossroads of the Silk Road. While the name originates from the ancient city of Bukhara in modern-day Uzbekistan, the most refined examples today are masterfully produced in Pakistan, where artisans have perfected these classic designs over generations.

These rugs are often constructed with 2-ply wool, where two strands are twisted together before being knotted. This technique is significant because it creates a pile that is not only denser and more lustrous but also far more resilient, allowing the rug to withstand years of foot traffic without losing its form.

The visual language of a Bokhara is defined by the repeating gul motif, which are stylized, elephant-foot-shaped medallions arranged in uniform rows. These are typically framed by elaborate, geometric decorative borders that provide a sense of balance and formal structure to the overall design.

Owning a hand-knotted Bokhara is more than just purchasing a floor covering; it is an investment in a storied cultural heritage. These pieces are highly valued by collectors for their consistency, skill, and the way they bridge the gap between ancient nomadic traditions and modern interior aesthetics.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that represents a significant investment of time and human skill. By tying each individual knot by hand, the artisan ensures a level of density and consistency that machines simply cannot replicate, resulting in a product built for longevity.

Covering an area of approximately 7.6 m2 with a density of 250,000 knots per m2, this piece contains roughly 1.9 million individual hand-tied knots. Completing a rug of this scale and complexity requires several months of dedicated, focused work from highly skilled weavers.

Beyond the knot count, the substantial weight of 19 kg is a testament to the quality and amount of wool used in its creation. This generous use of material, combined with the slow, deliberate hand-knotting technique, confirms that this rug is a premium piece crafted to endure daily use.

They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
