Bokhara 2ply - Crafted to Last a Lifetime

Discover a truly one-of-a-kind Pakistan Bokhara 2ply rug featuring a soft green field and rich wool pile, bringing warm character to your home.

This genuine Pakistan Bokhara rug brings a comforting layer of warmth and texture to your living space. Walking on its 12 mm thick pile feels reassuringly soft underfoot, offering a pleasant tactile experience while helping to absorb sound and create a quiet, calm atmosphere in your room.

Woven from 100% wool, this piece offers natural resilience and a welcoming feel. The dense pile ensures the rug maintains its shape and comfort through daily living, making it a practical choice for everyday indoor spaces.

With a knot density of 250,000 knots per m2, the surface displays fine pattern clarity and a dense structure that holds up well over years of use. This high concentration of hand-tied knots creates a durable, supportive pile that feels substantial beneath your feet, meaning the rug will withstand heavy foot traffic while retaining its exquisite structural integrity.

Because this rug is completely one of a kind, no two pieces are identical. This exact colour combination and motif arrangement exists nowhere else, meaning you are welcoming an entirely individual work of craft into your home that will never be replicated.

Bokhara rugs take their name from the ancient Silk Road city of Bukhara, a historic trading hub in Central Asia renowned for its textile heritage. Over generations, weaving families migrated and established workshops in regions such as Pakistan, carrying forward traditional motifs and knotting methods while refining the craft.

The 2ply designation in this rug refers to the construction of the pile yarn, which uses two distinct strands of wool twisted together before knotting. This technique yields a denser, more resilient pile that stands up to daily wear while retaining a soft, inviting touch.

The visual language of this tradition is centred on repeating geometric motifs, traditionally dominated by deep reds, but occasionally reinterpreted in fresh palettes like this green field. The orderly rows of medallions are enclosed by detailed borders that frame the composition with geometric balance.

Owning a hand-knotted Bokhara connects your home to a long lineage of textile artistry. Valued by collectors for their precision and cultural depth, these rugs represent a standard of craftsmanship that honours traditional techniques and endures for generations.

Crafted entirely by hand using a traditional hand-knotted technique, this rug represents months of patient artisan work. Weavers carefully tie each individual knot by hand onto the foundation, ensuring the structure is robust and tightly bound.

With a total dimension of 99 x 64 cm and a density of 250,000 knots per m2, this piece contains approximately 1,584,000 individual knots. Achieving this level of precision demands exceptional skill, steady hands, and significant time investment from the maker.

Weighing 1.6 kg, the rug demonstrates a solid, well-constructed build that reflects the genuine density of the materials and the careful attention given during the handmade weaving process.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
