Hosseinabad rugs originate from the Hamadan region in the Middle East, a historic area renowned for its long-standing tradition of village weaving. These rugs are deeply connected to the local culture, where weaving is often a domestic practice that has been refined over centuries of practice.

The quality of these pieces is defined by their robust construction. The term hand-knotted signifies that each knot is tied individually onto the foundation, a process that creates a firm and durable pile. This density is essential for longevity, ensuring that the intricate designs remain crisp and vibrant for years to come.

Signature design elements of this tradition often feature a central medallion surrounded by repeating motifs, frequently stylized florals or geometric shapes. The use of a bold, saturated red field is a hallmark of the style, often contrasted with earthy tones in the border to create a balanced and harmonious aesthetic.

Owning a piece from this region is a way to connect with a rich artistic legacy. These rugs are highly valued by collectors and enthusiasts alike for their authentic character and the unique human touch visible in every row of knots, making them a meaningful investment for any home.

This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a labour-intensive process that ensures every fibre is secured with precision. The construction involves thousands of individual knots, a technique that requires immense focus and expertise to achieve the clear, sharp patterns seen across the surface.

The substantial weight of 12.9 kg for this 320 x 115 cm piece is a testament to the high density of material used. This significant investment of raw materials and human effort results in a sturdy, long-lasting structure that stands up to years of daily use while retaining its form and texture.

By choosing a hand-knotted rug, you are supporting a craft tradition passed down through generations. The time and dedication poured into this single piece translate into a level of quality and character that creates a meaningful, lasting addition to your interior.
