Black / Dark redRunner85 x 295 cm

The Hosseinabad region is renowned for its long-standing tradition of weaving durable, high-quality rugs that carry the cultural identity of the Middle East. These pieces are often celebrated for their robust construction and the way they reflect the local weaving techniques passed down through generations of families living in the rural landscapes of the region.

The technical term hand-knotted refers to the process where individual strands of Wool are tied onto the foundation by hand, one by one. This method is the hallmark of quality in rug making, as it creates a much more durable and dense pile than machine-made alternatives. The resulting structure is not only stronger but also allows for a level of detail and colour depth that simply cannot be achieved through mechanical means.

The design of this runner is defined by a central medallion and a repeating geometric field, a classic approach that creates a balanced, harmonious look. The borders often feature decorative motifs that frame the central design, providing a formal structure that has been a staple in regional rug traditions for centuries. The use of deep red as the primary colour is a classic choice, historically signifying vitality and warmth in the home.

Collectors value these rugs for their authenticity and the human effort embedded in every knot. Owning a piece from this tradition is an investment in a legacy of skill and design that has survived the test of time. It is a way to bring a piece of history into your home, knowing that the rug was created with patience and an eye for enduring beauty.

This runner is carefully hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate significant time to ensure every detail of the pattern is perfectly placed. The process is a labour-intensive tradition that requires immense precision, with each knot tied by hand to build a foundation that is both dense and long-lasting.

The substantial weight of 8.8 kg for its 295 x 85 cm size is a testament to the quality of the materials and the density of the construction. This weight indicates a high volume of Wool used throughout the piece, providing a thickness that reflects the artisan's commitment to creating a rug that will endure for years to come.
