This one-of-a-kind hand-woven Afghan Kilim brings warmth and character to your floor with its vibrant orange tones and traditional geometric motifs.

Flatwoven from wool, this low-profile rug offers a practical 5 mm thickness that fits easily under doors and furniture, making it a versatile choice for any room in your home.

As a genuinely unique piece, this rug is entirely one of a kind. No two pieces are identical, meaning you are bringing a singular work of textile art into your home that cannot be replicated or reordered.

Hand-woven in Afghanistan, the rug is crafted from wool, providing natural warmth and durability underfoot. The vibrant orange and multicolor tones create a welcoming and cosy atmosphere in your living space.

Design

The design features prominent diamond medallions set against a vibrant orange field, framed by a decorative white border and accented with light blue, green, and purple geometric motifs.

Afghan Kilim weaving is a deeply rooted nomadic tradition passed down through generations. These flatwoven rugs were originally crafted by nomadic tribes for practical use in tents, serving as floor coverings, blankets, and bags.

The Old Style design refers to the classic aesthetic of traditional Afghan weavings, characterised by bold geometric patterns and rich, warm colour palettes. The use of repeating diamond medallions and structured borders is a signature of this regional style.

Traditionally, these Kilims are woven using local wool, which is highly valued for its strength and ability to absorb rich dyes. The flatweave construction, or slit-weave technique, creates the sharp, clean geometric lines that define the patterns.

Owning an Afghan Kilim is an appreciation of living history. Each piece carries the cultural heritage of the weavers, making it a highly collectible item that brings both warmth and a sense of story to modern interiors.

Hand-woven by skilled artisans in Afghanistan, this flatwoven Kilim represents hours of dedicated manual work. The traditional weaving technique requires precision and patience, resulting in a tight, durable structure.

Weighing 0.9 kg for its compact 110 x 81 cm size, the rug demonstrates a dense, high-quality weave. Every thread is carefully interlaced by hand, ensuring a flat, lightweight yet resilient finish that stands up to daily use.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
