Moud - An Elegant Addition to Your Hallway

This beautiful one-of-a-kind runner brings classic artistry to your home. Expertly hand-knotted, it features a refined floral design that adds warmth and character to any corridor or long space.

This elegant runner brings a sense of refined tradition to your home. Its elongated form is perfectly suited for hallways, entryways, or narrow galleries where you want to add a layer of comfort and visual interest underfoot.

The pile provides a soft and tactile surface that feels pleasant to walk on while offering excellent sound absorption to help create a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere. With a substantial 10 mm thickness, it offers a plush, cushioned feel that enhances the overall comfort of your interior spaces.

As a one-of-a-kind piece, this rug is entirely unique. The specific combination of design, colour, and hand-knotted texture means that no two rugs are exactly alike, allowing you to own a piece of functional art that will never be replicated.

Rooted in the rich artistic heritage of the Middle East, the intricate patterns and balanced composition reflect a long-standing commitment to decorative beauty. By choosing this piece, you are incorporating a storied design element that brings both warmth and a timeless aesthetic to your living space.

The Moud rug tradition originates from the town of Moud in the eastern part of the Middle East. This region is celebrated for its deep-rooted weaving culture, which has evolved over centuries to produce some of the most recognisable and highly sought-after rugs in the world.

These rugs are defined by their sophisticated construction and reliable quality. The artisans in this region often employ traditional techniques that focus on achieving a balance between a dense, durable pile and a fine, detailed pattern that showcases the weaver's precision and artistic vision.

The design language of Moud rugs is typically characterised by the Herati pattern, often accompanied by elegant medallions or garden-inspired floral motifs. These decorative borders and central elements are woven with a colour palette that emphasises harmony, ensuring that the rug acts as a cohesive focal point within a room.

Owning a Moud rug is an investment in cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship. These pieces are valued by collectors and homeowners alike for their ability to blend historical design with lasting quality, serving as a testament to the enduring legacy of Middle Eastern textile arts.

This rug is created through a dedicated hand-knotted process that requires immense skill and patience. Each knot is tied individually by an artisan, ensuring the design is anchored securely into the foundation for lasting durability and a crisp, defined appearance in the final pattern.

The construction reflects a commitment to quality that mass-produced items cannot match. With 160,000 knots per m2, this piece is built to withstand everyday use while maintaining its structural integrity and visual depth for years to come.

The substantial weight of 8.6 kg is a testament to the density of the materials and the intensity of the labour involved. This high material density ensures the rug remains firm and secure on your floor, demonstrating the significant time and effort invested in crafting every square centimetre of this unique piece.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Silk

Silk is an exclusive natural fibre that provides a soft and shiny feeling to rugs. The material can also be used to enhance details in wool rugs and in some, silk can make up the entire pile and sometimes even the warp. Elegant rugs with rich details can only be made with silk because other fibres are too thick for this purpose. Silk is a durable and hard-wearing fibre that lasts a long time and becomes more beautiful over time. Due to its sensitivity to liquids, it is advisable to refrain from positioning the rug in areas where there is a high likelihood of moisture or potential spills.
