The deep, rich tones and detailed floral patterns are hallmarks of this traditional style. Because this rug is one of a kind, you are bringing home a piece that is truly yours alone, with a character and charm that cannot be replicated by modern manufacturing.

With its generous size, this rug acts as a natural anchor for a seating area or dining room. The way the light plays across the Wool surface highlights the depth of the design, ensuring it remains a focal point that feels both grounded and inviting.

Owning a hand-knotted piece from the Middle East means you are choosing an item crafted with patience and care. It is a durable, long-lasting addition to your home that will hold its beauty for years to come, proving that some things are worth waiting for.

The history of Sarough rugs is rooted in the small village of Saruk in the Middle East. Over the last century, these rugs have gained international acclaim for their exceptional durability and the high quality of the Wool used in their creation.

These rugs are known for their sturdy construction, which is achieved through a dense knotting technique. This method ensures that the pile is not only soft and luxurious but also capable of withstanding heavy foot traffic, which is why these pieces have been favoured for homes for generations.

Visually, the Sarough is easily recognised by its elegant floral motifs. Often featuring a central medallion surrounded by a complex network of swirling vines and blossoms, the design is typically balanced and formal. The use of rich, deep colours creates a sophisticated aesthetic that has remained popular for decades.

Collecting a piece from this tradition is about more than just decor. It is an appreciation of the skill passed down through families of weavers. Owning one of these rugs connects your home to a long-standing heritage of craft and beauty, making it a valuable addition to any collection.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted, a process that requires immense skill and dedication. Each individual knot is placed by hand, creating a structure that is far more resilient and dense than any machine-made alternative.

Given the size of 400 x 279 cm and the weight of 33.5 kg, the amount of Wool and labour involved is substantial. This weight is a direct indicator of the density and quality of the materials used, ensuring the rug remains stable and retains its shape over time.

The sheer time required to complete such a large, hand-knotted piece is a testament to the artisan's craft. By choosing this rug, you are supporting a tradition that values precision and human effort above all else, resulting in a product that stands the test of time.
