As a one-of-a-kind piece, this rug carries a unique narrative that will never be replicated. Each detail in its design has been carefully placed by hand, creating a visual rhythm that draws the eye and anchors your space with a sense of history and intentional design.

Originating from Afghanistan, this runner reflects a deep-rooted tradition of rug making. The Wool creates a tactile experience that is both cosy and resilient, making it a functional choice for modern interiors that value authenticity and long-lasting quality.

With its thoughtful composition and earthy colour palette, this runner acts as a bridge between traditional artistry and contemporary living. Owning this piece means welcoming a genuine work of art into your home, one that offers both beauty and a practical, tactile foundation for your living environment.

The Shabargan runner draws its influence from the rich, diverse weaving traditions of Afghanistan. For centuries, this region has been a crossroads of cultures, where nomadic tribal patterns and settled urban traditions have merged to create a distinct and highly recognisable style of carpet weaving.

The term hand-knotted refers to the classic technique of tying individual Wool knots around the warp threads. This method is the hallmark of quality in the region, as it allows for the creation of intricate, durable designs that can hold their structure and beauty across generations of use.

Visually, these rugs are defined by their geometric motifs and earthy, natural colour palettes. The patterns often feature medallions and repeating symbols that hold cultural significance, reflecting the landscapes and stories of the artisans who create them. The use of traditional dyes further enhances the depth and character of the Wool.

Collecting these rugs is an investment in cultural heritage. They are valued not just for their aesthetic appeal, but for the human skill and historical continuity they represent. Owning a piece like this connects your home to a long lineage of craft, offering a sense of permanence and depth that mass-produced items simply cannot replicate.

This runner is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that requires immense skill and patience. By knotting each strand of Wool individually onto a cotton foundation, artisans create a dense and sturdy structure that is designed to endure for many years.

The 90,000 knots per square metre density represents hundreds of hours of focused human effort. This level of precision is what defines the sharpness of the pattern and the overall integrity of the rug, ensuring that the pile remains firm and the design remains crisp over time.

With a total weight of 7.6 kg, the rug possesses a substantial quality that speaks to the volume of natural materials used. This weight is a direct result of the dense knotting technique, providing a heavy, stable runner that stays securely in place while offering a luxurious, grounded feel.

They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean.
