Because this rug is one of a kind, you are acquiring a work of art that will never be replicated. Its presence in your home is a testament to individuality, ensuring that your space remains as distinct and personal as the rug itself.

Beyond its beauty, this rug offers excellent durability and sound-absorbing qualities, making it a practical choice for high-traffic areas or quiet retreats alike. It is designed to be lived with and enjoyed, aging gracefully as it continues to anchor your room for years to come.

Tabriz rugs originate from the historic city of Tabriz in the Middle East, a legendary centre for carpet weaving that has influenced the craft for centuries. Historically, this region served as a vital trade hub, allowing for the exchange of artistic ideas and techniques that eventually defined the specific elegance associated with Tabriz carpets.

The term 50 Raj refers to a traditional measurement system used to gauge the fineness of the weave, based on the number of knots within a specific width. A 50 Raj classification indicates a high level of technical mastery, resulting in a tighter, more refined weave that allows for the intricate, curvilinear designs that this region is world-renowned for.

Signature elements of a Tabriz rug often include a central medallion surrounded by dense, flowing floral patterns and elaborate borders. These motifs are deeply rooted in classical garden designs, representing a long history of artistic expression that balances symmetry with organic, naturalistic detail.

Owning a Tabriz rug is an investment in cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship. Collectors value these pieces not only for their beauty but for the historical narrative they carry, representing a bridge between ancient traditions and the modern home.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of focused labour to every square centimetre. The high knot density is the secret to its exceptionally crisp pattern definition and long-term structural integrity, ensuring that the design remains sharp and the pile remains resilient over time.

The construction process is a test of patience and precision, involving thousands of individual hand-tied knots that create a dense, heavy foundation. Weighing 56.2 kg, this rug reflects the significant amount of premium materials used and the immense human effort required to bring such a complex, detailed vision to life.

By choosing a hand-knotted piece, you are supporting a craft tradition passed down through generations. The time-intensive nature of this work is evident in every inch of the rug, justifying its place as a premium, lasting addition to your home that stands far above mass-produced alternatives.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Silk

Silk is an exclusive natural fibre that provides a soft and shiny feeling to rugs. The material can also be used to enhance details in wool rugs and in some, silk can make up the entire pile and sometimes even the warp. Elegant rugs with rich details can only be made with silk because other fibres are too thick for this purpose. Silk is a durable and hard-wearing fibre that lasts a long time and becomes more beautiful over time. Due to its sensitivity to liquids, it is advisable to refrain from positioning the rug in areas where there is a high likelihood of moisture or potential spills.
